8th RECK Alumni meet of Bangalore Chapter

Hi RECK’ers,

I am very happy to announce yet another RECK Alumni Meet (Bangalore Chapter). This will be our 8th meet and this time again it will be a family get-together.

I welcome each fellow RECKER in Bangalore on this day i.e. 4th April to come and be part of this fun filled networking event and specially thank Mr. Anil Gupta (Founder Director, Convergent Communication) from 1983 batch, who is part sponsoring the Alumni meet on behalf of his group of companies.

Agenda for the Evening:

· Introduction round (This is not like what was asked during raging J)

· Talk from experienced senior members on Topic i.e. “Recession and me - what are companies doing at this time, what is expected as a professional, what is expected from the families"

· Dine, Dance and Not to mention Drinks (Without which RECKER’s party is not complete)

Three cheers to RECKers/NITKians, a wonderful initiative. The latest newsletter got on the Alumni group (RECK_Alumni@yahoogroups.com).

Hi All,

We haven't sent any newsletter on this group for a long long time.
Thought that we will break the trend by introducing two RECKers who
chose the path less trodden.

Anurag Jain and Shikha Khanna, 1997 graduates of RECK (now married with
a sweet daughter named Harshal), left 'comfortable life and promising
career' to pursue a 'tough, challenging and financially-insecure' path.
Couple of years ago, they started a non-profit organization NEEV (New
Education & Environment Visions) in Jamshedpur.

NEEV's vision is to promote sustainable living practices, spread
environmental awareness and seek equitable development by empowering
the underprivileged sections of society.

They plan to achieve this vision by adopting downtrodden and
marginalized communities and causing all round development in them
through democratic institution building, promoting education, linking
them to government initiatives and developing sources of sustainable
and environmentally friendly livelihood.

We came in touch with Anurag and Shikha about an year ago (after almost
10 years since they graduated from RECK). We talked to them several
times on phone and visited them in Jamshedpur in July. To say the
least, we were quite impressed with what NEEV has accomplished in such
a short time and the potential of their work going forward.

NEEV is currently funded by personal donations. This mail is more about
introducing their work and less about seeking funds. At the moment,
they are running a drive to help flood victims in Bihar to survive
